Reflect

PL:

  • Kilkumiesięczne warsztaty w Warszawie w Domu w Alejach,

„Thirteen Dreamscapes” jest częścią międzynarodowego projektu „REFLECT: Rediscovering the Self Through the Other”, realizowanego we współpracy Fundacji Sztuki Współczesnej (Polska) z centrum choreograficznym Dansverkstaedid w Reykjavíku (Islandia). Performans grupy islandzkiej odbył się równolegle.

EN:
REFLECT is an intercultural performance project that created a space for individuals from various cultural backgrounds living in Warsaw to explore their identities in relation to others and their surrounding reality through collaborative creative actions. Dreams—both individual and collective—served as the starting point for exploration, experimenting with the body, movement, and voice, and building shared narratives

Project Stages:

  • Several months of workshops in Warsaw, held at Dom w Alejach.
  • A week-long retreat at Mazury region
  • The performance Thirteen Dreamscapes, presented at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The final performance, Thirteen Dreamscapes, invited the audience into a dream world where the boundaries between the individual and the collective dissolve, and personal images merge into a singular collective experience.

Performance Description:
A journey through the collective unconscious. In this world, everything is a contradiction that is not a contradiction. The teacher is the student, discomfort is comfort, my dream is your dream, and thirteen dreams become one.

This performance was the result of the work of an international group focusing on the broad theme of dreams. It posed questions about how dreams can be perceived as a form of collective experience that transcends personal and cultural boundaries. The audience was invited into a space where an individual’s dream became the starting point for a shared narrative.

Thirteen Dreamscapes is part of the international project „REFLECT: Rediscovering the Self Through the Other”, carried out in collaboration between the Foundation for Contemporary Art (Poland) and the Dansverkstaedid Choreographic Center in Reykjavik (Iceland). A parallel performance by the Icelandic group took place simultaneously.
